About Us

Thangka, translated as “flat painting” have been used ceremonially by Lamas for thousands of years as tools to protect & deepen states of meditation, awareness, and promote peace. These precious handmade Tibetan Thangka paintings were created by over 80 Tibetan Buddhist families in Dharamsala, India. Each one has taken many months to complete and come in various shapes and sizes. The paintings are created on organic Tibetan cotton canvas and are made from a combination of water soluble acrylic, semi-precious stones, and gold leaf. They are divided into 2 categories depending on their qualities.
Only the Best

“Thangka painting is a form of live Art passed down through generations. As a family, we create customized Thangkas in an old style craftsmanship introducing current realities of Buddha life and portrays different realities of Buddhism of spiritualist order. Thangka at our store are painted on hand made silk or cotton canvases utilizing brilliant shades of numerous tints and high quality materials such as semi-precious stones foraged in the Himalayas. Each piece is hand-painted by Nepali and Tibetan craftsmen artists.” Sonam Family

We were able to acquire 4 thangkas for my home and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the way they bring color, life and mindfulness into any room. The beauty and brightness of the colors is one aspect to behold but the fine detail and clarity that go into these works of art provide us a glimpse into the meditative world in which the artists persist. Studying the thangkas fills us with a sense of gratitude.
